Our Mission
"The Step Back Bobby Jack Sumler Foundation exists to give kids the opportunities Bobby never had growing up — access to mentors, free basketball skill camps, and scholarships that help students get to and through college or trade school. We stand in the gap for youth who need guidance, support, and belief."
Meet Bobby Jack
Bobby Jack grew up believing college wasn’t for him. He faced challenges that many of our youth face today—limited resources, lack of guidance, and a world that didn't always see his potential.
But everything changed when mentors like Coach Brasky and Mr. Branch stepped into his life. They didn't just teach him basketball; they taught him to believe in himself.
The foundation is his promise to pay that forward. To be that mentor, that coach, that support system for the next generation.

Empowering Through Action
We provide tangible opportunities for growth, both on the court and in the classroom.
Youth Basketball Camp
A weekly summer camp for ages 5–17, focused on fundamentals, teamwork, confidence-building, and creating a fun, safe environment for every child.
College & Trade Scholarships
Helping students attend community college, 4-year schools, or technical programs. We believe character, effort, and heart matter just as much as GPA.
